Another acquaintance Church of the Nativity of the Holy Virgin, dated 1888. Important: it’s wooden. I think you have already noticed our special love for wood. And this one is pure excitement. As always, there is little information about the church. I am sure that it has been restored because the wood could not have been in such a state for 133 years.
But who knows. Located in the village of Mala Berezanka, it is 8 km away from our Center, taking a bike trip along a quiet road between the villages, along the banks of the Supii River, with steep views and bird nesting sites is such fun. This church is also included in the cycling and hiking routes from our Center. There are a little less than 600 people in the village of Mala Berezanka.
It is so tiny and located on the right bank of the Supii River. The church is called “Kozak” because it was built in those times. 17th century, amazing history. There is a cemetery around the church. There are very old stone crosses. Not everyone is interested in the topic of cemeteries, but if you are interested, here it is. We, for instance, treat history with respect and interest, so we are very excited to consider stone crosses as part of the history of life around us.
